Shia LaBeouf taken into custody in New Orleans following a fight during Mardi Gras after an early-morning incident that unfolded in the heart of the city’s French Quarter, according to local authorities.

Disturbance Outside Royal Street Business

Police reported that the 39-year-old actor was involved in a physical confrontation outside a business on Royal Street during the busy Mardi Gras celebrations. According to the New Orleans Police Department, LaBeouf had allegedly caused a disturbance inside the establishment and was asked to leave.

After being removed from the premises, one of the victims told officers that LaBeouf struck him multiple times with closed fists. Authorities said the situation briefly de-escalated when the actor left the area, but he later returned and appeared more aggressive.

Escalation and Second Assault

Witnesses and police statements indicate that several bystanders attempted to restrain LaBeouf so he could calm down and leave. However, officers say he allegedly struck the same individual again in the upper body.

The situation escalated further when LaBeouf reportedly assaulted a second person, punching him in the nose. Bystanders again restrained the actor and held him until law enforcement arrived at the scene.

Hospital Treatment and Charges Filed

Following the altercation, LaBeouf was transported to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for injuries that authorities described as unknown. After being medically cleared, he was taken into custody.

Police confirmed that he faces two counts of simple battery, according to official records.

Details Still Unclear

Officials have not yet provided information about what led to the confrontation. As of now, the circumstances that triggered the incident remain under investigation.

An attorney and a representative for LaBeouf did not immediately respond to media inquiries seeking comment on the matter.
